Mieko Hillman, an actress of mixed nationality,-Japanese and Black- grew up in a military family and moved around to various cities throughout the East Coast. At age seven, a pivotal point marked Mieko’s life. She was playing football with the neighborhood boys when her father intercepted her from the game and tossed her into ballet class. This is where she discovered her love for entertainment. Mieko spent much of her childhood and adolescent years in dance competitions and acting class honing her craft. As fate would have it she was picked from a national dance competition to go to a dance workshop in Los Angeles. The moment she got off the plane she knew she was in the right place. After graduating from University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology where she also danced for the NBA’s Washington Wizards, she made her journey back to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams of becoming an actor.
